Our first recommendation is the film The
Swap(2016)
The Swap is about two
teenagers who have exchanged their bodies and take advantage of this in their
everyday life. Instead of fighting to win the first place in the hockey match,
Jake has to take , Ellie’s place in gymnastics and protect her friendship with
Sassy. Meanwhile Ellie must play hockey with his bigger brothers, a game she
doesn‘t understand. This does not prevent them from being successful and come back
into their own bodies. The teens are forced to walk in one another’s shoes and
they learn valuable lessons about the opposite gender. We really recommend this
film because there are not enough movies like The Swap. The whole film
is connected with our topic and presents gender roles in our society in a
rather humorous way.
We would also like to recommend Disney’s The
Beauty and the Beast. Watch the two versions – the cartoon of 1991 and
the 2017 live-action movie. They are full of sexism and false feminism. Even
softened, the character of Gaston is a good example of everything a husband
should not be: controlling, egocentric and authoritarian. Even the script of
2017 is new and there are a lot of differences, the message is the same. Please
compare and give your opinion -is there a change in connection to the gender
equality? 
The swap is a movie which is talking about gender equality by the swap of two teenager. But when we watch the film we can observe that we are in full in the strereotype… Every sequences shows a new cliche corny. I think it’s really not a good example…Especially this kind of movie touch the children, so they will think that is the reality. For example, in their school girls do their nails with her mom and boys do hockey between men. So this is not a demonstration of equality because of all the stereotypes.
